born May 5, 1941 in Lansing to Emerson and Lillie Boles. She went to her heavenly home on January 16, 2013. She graduated from Sexton High School and received her LPN from Lansing Community College in 1961. She married Shed Blake in 1963 and they were blessed with three beautiful children. She worked for several years at St. Lawrence Hospital, Mary Avenue LTC, and retired from Altera Assisted Living in 2006. Betty loved to share her musical talents and did so faithfully as a lifelong member at Mt. Zion All Nations Bible Church. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, children"Michael and Sheila Blake. She is survived by her husband of 49 ½ years, Shed Blake; son, Jeffrey (Sonia) Blake, and granddaughter Nadia Blake; sisters, Barbara Jones and Linda Boles; brothers, Emerson Jr., (Carol), John (Diedra), Michael (Flora), and James (Kathy) Boles. Friends may visit Mrs. Blake Friday, January 18, 2013 3 " 6 pm at the Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at 12:00 pm at Mt. Zion All Nations Bible Church, 10575 S. Krepps Road, Dewitt, MI. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to funeral with Pastor H. Levi McClendon III officiating. Interment at Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens.
