Obituary

Bertha (Nita) Renita Grandberry of Jackson, MI passed away on February 14, 2025, at the age of 68. Bertha was born on January 11, 1957, to Bertha Mae Wade and Raymond Benson. Bertha was a dedicated, compassionate, and lifetime committed Registered Nurse. Bertha was known for her infectious humor, smile, love for music, dancing, reading, crocheting and most importantly spending time caring for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and others. Bertha was small in stature but strong in character. She was the nucleus of her family, a mother figure to some, a sister, aunt, cousin, and loyal friend with a beautiful soul.

Bertha was proceeded in death by: her parents, Raymond Benson and Bertha Mae Wade; brother, Hargues Grandberry; and sister, Christine Benson.

Bertha is survived by: her three children, Michelle Grandberry, Latreasha Grandberry, and Casper (Regina) Littlejohn Jr. Bertha leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and would talk of them regularly; four siblings, Laura Grandberry of Gilbert, Arizona, Valerie Wade of Lansing, MI, Lisa Wade, San Diego, CA, and Benjamin Wade of Lansing, MI; long-time best friend, Annie (Pearl) Wilson; and life partner or special friend, Corey Eugene Stamper. She also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

Bertha was known by her close friends and family as "Nita" Bertha touched the lives of many people. Therefore, we would like to thank everyone, who has been a part of her life, both professionally and personally. Bertha respected and displayed kindness, genuineness, and love towards all, who she came in contact with, her smile, laughter, spunkiness, outspokenness, energy, and touch will be truly missed these attributes of
hers speak volumes to the only woman whom, God created, and we called Bertha "Nita" Grandberry.

Per Bertha's wish, she requested to be cremated, a memorial service will be announced and held at a later date.
