Obituary

Barbara Ann Wells was born to Minnie (Keys) Miller and George Blackmon Sr. on June 22,1952 in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She moved to Lansing, Michigan at an early age, she was the oldest of seven kids. She had several nicknames such as: Barbara Jean Cassol Brook, Baaba, Swivel Hips just to name a few. Barbara treasured time with her son's, James (Nate) and Micheal (Meter), grandkids other family and friends and fiancé Phil (Detroit Phil). Barbara loved watching her Western's and Cartoons and different movies. She was the life of the party, Barbara loved listening to her songs by the Temptations and her all time favorite Woman to Woman (Barbara this is Shirley). She was a mentor, mother and best friend, Barbara was a very awesome woman. It didn't make a difference who you were. She was very kind hearted. If you needed a place to stay or something to eat she would always help.

Barbara exchanged time for eternity on Wednesday November 2,2022. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude and Minnie Miller; her brothers, Clay Blackmon and Vincent Johnson; sister, Shirly Brown; fiancé, Phil Lawerance; and two great grandbabies (Angel Babies).

Her beautiful life will be forever cherished and remembered in the lives of: her sons, James (Greta) Wells and Micheal (Meter) Wells; siblings, George Blackmon, Faye Brown and Cheryl Blackmon; granddaughters, Azia Wells, Mohogany Wells, Aziah Gibbs, Tenisha Baldwin, Esha Mosby; grandsons, Styles Wells, Javonte Wells, Jaymes Wells, Dalorean Strickland; 26 great grandkids; and a host of other nieces and nephews and family members and friends.

Barbara fought a good fight and those who
were touched by her understood the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. She will be missed by all who love her.

Heartfelt Thanks

There are no words to express how truly thankful we are for all the prayers and many acts of kindness. The family would like to thank you for the incredible show of love and support during this time. Your help and kind words at this difficult time was very appreciated and a great comfort to all the family. May God's richest blessings rest upon you.
