Barbara Anne King, born December 24, 1945, went home to be with the LORD on Wednesday, December 4, 2019.

Barbara attended Lansing Public Schools and was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School. She received her Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from Davenport College.

Barbara retired from Meijer with over 20 years of service. When she passed, she was working at Lyons Elementary School and was known as "Grandma Barb" in the kindergarten classroom. Barbara accepted the Lord as her personal savior on Sunday, May 13, 2013 at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, where she began her Christian walk by attending Sunday School and subsequently becoming a member of the PRBC Culinary Ministry. She also loved to travel.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Johnny King, parents, Herschel B. and Maude Kinley, and brother, Willie Austin.

She leaves to cherish her memory; her brother, Arthur L. Austin of Lansing; sisters Janice Kinley; Valarie (Steven) Milligan of Alexandria, VA.; and sister-cousin Chylene (Joe) Barkley; aunt, Sarah Nick; uncle, James Keyton all of Lansing; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
