Obituary

Mrs. Aurora P. Rodriguez was born on December 25, 1929 in Navasota, TX to the late Sara and Lino Flores. She had five siblings: Dolores, Lino, Epiphano, Tino, and Elivita.

Aurora moved to Michigan with her former husband, Eugenio H. Rodriguez in 1954. She worked at Leon's Homemade Food for over 35 years. Upon her retirement in 1991, she dedicated herself to help raise her grandchildren.

Aurora loved to go dancing whenever she had the chance. However, in her later years, she spent her time collecting nick knacks and other treasures she would find at the local thrift stores. She also enjoyed relaxing on her front porch and in her recliner watching her favorite western shows.

Aurora was member of the Church of the Resurrection Parish of Lansing, MI. She would attend weekly mass until she was unable.

On December 31, 2019, Aurora was called home to be with her Lord and Savior. Her job was complete and well done. A golden heart has stop beating and her hands are at rest.

Aurora was preceded in death by: her daughter, Linda Ledesma; son, Raul Nino; granddaughter, Katy Ortega; her loving parents, Sara and Lino Flores; and her siblings, Elivita Lopez, Lino Flores, Epiphano Flores, and Tino Flores.

Aurora is survived by: her five children, Annie Tello, Betty J. Delgado, Mary L. Cortez, Eugenio Rodriguez, Jr., and Jacob "Jake" Perez (her grandson who she raised as her own); her younger sister, Delores Bermea; her sister-in-law's, Pauline Flores, Petra Flores and Antonia Flores;  her numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

These family and friends reflect the kind of person Aurora was and we all loved her very much.
