Anthony (Tony) Duane Palmer Sr., departed this life on July 29, 2020. Tony was born in Jackson, Michigan but lived most of his adult life in Holt, Michigan. He graduated from Parkside High School and attended Jackson Community College.
Tony worked for the Michigan Department of Corrections for 26 years, beginning his career as a Corrections Officer and retiring as a Deputy Warden at the G. Robert Cotton Correctional Facility in Jackson.
Tony was an avid fisherman and enjoyed all of the Michigan Great Lakes. In his words, "Fish feared me." He also enjoyed golf and bowling. He had a passion for carpentry and old western movies. He was notorious for his sense of humor. Tony was a strong, caring man who was the rock for all of his family.
Tony was preceded in death by his: father, Ray D. Palmer, Sr; mother, Anna P. Palmer; and brother, Ray D. Palmer Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory and celebrate his life: the love of his life Carmen Palmer; children, Anthony (Dale) Palmer-Peterson, Delan (Angel) Howard, Phillip (Tania) Palmer, Kevin Palmer, and Alexis Underwood; five grandchildren, Delan (Taylor) Howard, Jala Howard, Jackson Palmer, Noah Palmer, and Aria Underwood; siblings, Candance (David) Mathews, Ionnie (John) Butler, Paulette (Curtis) Myer, Renee Palmer, Michael Palmer, Ralph Palmer and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will be honoring Tony's wishes with a private memorial service in Jackson.
