Ms. Annette Alexander was born on August 31, 1965 in Lansing, Michigan to James Couthen and Fairleen Alexander Wilson. Annette enjoyed cooking, family gatherings, spending time with her grandchildren and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity.

Ms. Annette was preceded in death by: step-father, Robert Wilson Sr.; and father, James Couthen. Annette went home to be with the Lord on October 22, 2016.

She leaves to cherish her memory: children, Terrence Micheal Alexander (Crystal), Tyrenza Tieshell Rutledge, Melvin Benson Jr. and Shawnnice Benson; 8 grandchildren; sisters, Terre Sanders (Cleo) of Chicago, Linda Diane Swanson, Kay Alexander and Judy Alexander, all of Lansing; brothers, Joseph (Cynthia) Alexander and Robert E. Wilson Jr., both of Lansing; special aunts, Clara Beard and Bobbi Green Couthen; special friends, Terrence Simmons, Gloria Turner and Mettea Williams; Shirley Couthen of South Carolina and other brothers, sisters, aunts, and uncles of South Carolina and Lansing, Michigan.

Ms. Annette Alexander will lie in repose on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from3-7pm at Riley Funeral Home, 426 West Saint Joseph Street, Lansing, Michigan.  Funeral service will be held on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 11am at Riley Funeral Home.  Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.  Memories and condolences may be shared at www.rileyfuneralhome.com .
