Age 85, was born July 19, 1927 in Poplarville, MS to Rev. Andrew Jackson Husband, Sr. and Effie Ann Husband. He was 1 of 9 children. He moved to Lansing with his family in the early 1940s. Andrew served honorably in the United States Army from 1945 - 1947, receiving the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon and War World II Victory Medal. He was united in marriage to Lucille Turner in 1951. This union lasted for 61 years and out of this union, 9 children were born. He retired from General Motors after 40+ years of service as a skill tradesman. Andrew was preceded in death by: his wife Lucille; son, Terrell Husband; grandson, Kenyata; granddaughter, Keysha Duke; 3 brothers, Simon, Charles and Louis; sisters, Wilma DeMeyers and Beulah Williams Andrew. Andrew transition to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 6, 2013 and leaves to mourn his passing: eight children, Stephanie Duke, Jeffrey (Henrietta) Husband, Command Sergeant Major Delbert (Sonya) Husband, Andrew (Andrea) Husband, Michael Husband, Charles Husband and Tracee Husband, all of Lansing, and Judy (Michael) Jones of Kentucky; 28 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Erma Sylvertooth of Detroit and Minnie DeMeyers; brother, Robert (Jackie) Husband; sister-in-law, Carol Husband of Lansing; special grandson, Tyrice Jones, Sr.; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends. Friends may visit Mr. Husband Friday, April 12, 9am - 9 pm, at the Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 13, 12 pm at Trinity AME Church, 3500 W. Holmes Rd., Lansing, MI with family receiving friends 1 hour prior to service.
