Andre Jamael Smith was born on December 11, 1982 to the union of Dolores Jackson Smith and Rickey Smith Sr. Andre was the youngest of three siblings. Andre received his education in the Lansing Public School System.

Andre was raised in a Christian Family. He attended New Hope COGIC under the leadership of the late Bishop Willie Wade, and Greater New Life under the leadership of Pastor Rickey and Lady Dolores Smith Sr. Dolores Smith his mother trained Andre to pray at an early age and learn Bible scriptures. He loved sports and to play basketball. Andre had a passion for writing music and spent many days rapping at his best friend Derrick Dennis recording studio. He had a special love for his two daughters Amya, and Zelia. Andre and his nephew Alex had a special bond they hung out together everyday and they were more like brothers than uncle and nephew. Andre had one special cousin Anthony Roberson that was like his brother. He had five best friends: Derrick Dennis, Roy Fambro, Jonathan NP Hall, Preston Dickerson, and James Fisher that stuck by his side until the end. Andre loved his family, and friends.

On March 13, 2022 Andre departed this life that he lived to the fullest. He leaves to cherish in his memory: his loving parents, Rickey and Dolores Smith of Lansing; two children, Amya Velez of Lansing, Zelia Theobald of Ypslanti; one sister, Setetra Smith of Lansing; one brother, Rickey Smith Jr, (Amanda) of Lansing; two nephews, Alex Peoples of Lansing, Christian Smith (whom preceded him in death); two nieces, Jasmin Smith, Jayla Smith of Lansing; one great niece, Alex'ionna Peoples of Lansing; grandparents, George and Maxine Jackson (whom preceded him in death); grandmother, Della Beatrice Wyatt (whom preceded him in death); grandfather, Fonzo Wig Harper (whom preceded him in death); a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Andre's Legacy will live on through his daughters who were blessed to know him.
