Obituary

Mother Ammie Lee Ross, third of nine children, was born in Camden, Mississippi, to the late Rosie Lee Torrence and the late James T. Beadin, on January 14, 1952. On Friday, May 20, 2022, she transitioned into her glorious body at Sparrow Hospital.

She attended Velma High School in Camden, Mississippi. In 1978, she moved her family to Lansing, Michigan. Later in life she went on to finish high school at West Jr. Adult Education in Lansing, Michigan. She worked several jobs and later found her passion as an entrepreneur.

She found Christ at an early age at Lee's Chapel AME Zion in Canton, Mississippi. She initially served at Holy Ghost Temple under the leadership of the late Pastor Charles Dillard and the late Evangelist Gloria Dillard from 1982-1994; then later went on to serve at Jesus of Nazareth Church of God in Christ under Bishop Aaron I. Milton, Th.D., and Bishop's Wife Virgie Milton until now. She loved the Lord and was indeed a powerful and faithful prayer warrior. She was a faithful member for over 20 years committed to winning souls to Christ. She served in the pantry ministry, youth department, kitchen ministry, and helped with the special care ministry for the First Lady and Bishop.

She raised all her children and grandchildren in the fear and admiration of God. She was always encouraging her family to get right with God.

Preceding her in death were: her daughter, Angie Ross; parents, Rosie Lee Torrence and James T. Beadin; three brothers, Pearl V. Scott, W.C. Scott, and Eddie Torrence, Jr.; grandsons, Xavier Breedlove and Baby Boy Breedlove.

She leaves to cherish her memory: daughters, Barbara (Kenneth) Breedlove of Lansing, MI, Angela Ross of Lansing, MI, Jennifer Ross of Holt, MI and Shuntae Ross of Holt, MI; two brothers, Mozell Parker, William Earl (Laverne) Torrence, three sisters, Lizzie Mae Cheers, Delores Torrence, and Lee Ethel Robinson; eight grandchildren, Hakim Ross, Meldrick Breedlove, Javion Wilson, Kenneisha Breedlove, Marquise Wilson, Devonte Breedlove, Marcus Ross, and Monica Hardy; one great grand, Ezekiel Wilson; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Her spiritual teachings will definitely remain in our hearts.
