Alvin Lee Mitchell was born on February 5, 1969 to Alberta Mitchell and Robert Price in Lansing, Michigan. Alvin, a lifelong resident of Lansing, attended J.W. Sexton High School. He worked various jobs during his life time.

Alvin was the eldest grandson, with love for his family and friends. Alvin was always willing to help when called upon. He loved to baby sit and the children loved him.

Some of Alvin's favorite things to do were watching sports, cooking, dancing, and being a great handyman.

Alvin was not one to complain. Not even when sick. His response was always "I feel great".

Alvin was a loving son, brother, nephew, cousin, uncle and father. Alvin crossed over on October 29, 2019, surrounded by his family.

Alvin leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Amber Mitchell; son, Tyerese Mitchell; four grandchildren, Malykhi, Jumeela, Aston, and Tauen; sister, Alvina Mitchell; nephew, Kasib; niece, Samirah; uncle, Curtis Mitchell; five aunts, Linda, Shirley, Judy, Jeanie and Teresa; a host of cousins; his best friend/cousin, James Mitchell; and his best friend, Ryan Baker.
