Obituary

Alene Hamilton was the youngest child born to Jesse and Beulah Houston Halliburton on April 22, 1917 in Caruthersville, Missouri.  She accepted Christ at an early age, a path she followed her entire life.  As a young woman, she traveled extensively and lived and worked in a number of states. Upon returning home, she would bless her parents and siblings with gifts.  She was a most gracious and kindly woman of God.  She loved us unconditionally and was loved by all who knew her.

She was predeceased by: her husband, Lather Hamilton; infant son, Horace; sons, Carl, and Lawrence; grandson, Keeba; granddaughter, Sonji; parents, Jesse and Beulah Halliburton; and siblings.


Our beloved Alene passed away on Friday, April 6, 2018 with her son, Samuel and "daughter" and friend, Llnair holding her hand in prayer.  She leaves to honor and cherish her memory: her sons, Floyd, Samuel, and Meachum; daughters, Darlene (Allen) Brown and Shirley Stacy; grand-daughters, Cynthia (Tracy) Jackson, Opal, Vanessa, Sherdon, and Sevitra; grandsons, Christopher, Tyron, Carl, Jr., Meachum L., II, Renard, and Darian; and a host of great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.


Mrs. Alene Hamilton will lie in repose Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Riley Funeral Home, 426 W St Joseph St, Lansing, MI 48933 , from 1-4 pm. Family will receive friends from 3-4 pm. Funeral service for Mrs. Alene Hamilton will be held at 11:30 am at Ellis Tabernacle Original Church of God, 1916 Olds Ave, Lansing, MI 48915.
